The reason I chose to do my blog about Mike Posner was to show people how talented he really is. Now, more people will have heard of him and will get to decide it they like his music or not. I chose to talk about his early life and career because I think both are essential in deciding if you like his music or not. You know more about him now. I decided to put a poll on my page so I could see if people like Mike Posner or not. I wanted to put pictures and a link to a video on my blog of him to show people what he looks like and how talented he is. Most people who are visiting my blog probably do not know who Mike Posner is. Do not worry though! My blog will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about him. First, Mike Posner is an American singer, song writer and producer. He was born on January 12, 1988 in Southfield, Michigan. He is the son of an attorney and a pharmacist. His mother is a devoted Catholic and his father is Jewish. Posner attended a high school in Michigan called Wylie Groves High School. He currently attends Duke University and is part of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mike Posner was always a good student throughout high school.
Mike Posner's career finally started taking off in 2009. He hired his first manager, Daniel Weisman of Elitaste, Inc. Daniel Weisman also manages Wale. Mike Posner's first album is called "A Matter of Time". He worked with Don Cannon and DJ Benzi to create this album. The debut was in early 2009. Finally, in July of 2009, Mike Posner signed a label deal with J Records. This record deal was a huge deal for Mike Posner. He knew his career would really start to take off after this deal. Amazingly enough, Mike Posner decided to stay in school. He is going to Duke University and getting his major in business. I think this shows a lot of potential that he decided to stay in school. Not many people would choose this option. Mike Posner tours on the weekends and works on recording his new albums. Mike Posner's second album "One Foot out the Door" was released on October 27, 2009. He performed on national television for the first time in the TV show "Last Call" with Carson Daly on the same day his second album was released. This album was a success. It features Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Bun B, Saigon, GLC, and 3OH!3, Freddie Gibbs, and XV. One of Mike Posner's most popular songs is "Cooler than Me". It is currently number fifty four on the top one hundred chart. "Cooler than Me" is about a woman in his life that talks and acts like she is cooler than him. I think he will be so popular because so many people (mostly young adults) can relate to his music. He sings about relationships and people who have hurt him, but he also sings about having a good time and enjoying life while you’re around. Both of these can obviously relate to many people. I think he is quickly working his was to the top.
Mike Posner sings and produces a variety of music, including Synthpop, Hip hop, and Electro hop. Mike Posner is not only a singer, song writer and producer, but he also plays the piano. He is not very popular or famous yet but he will be in the near future. Mike Posner creates music with many famous people, including Big Sean and Kid Cudi, people I am sure everyone has heard about.
